His Living Stones is a ministry that operates in Debre Zeit, Ethiopia. We have many different programs but the ultimate goal is to enable woman to embrace a life of self-sustainability. We accomplish this in many ways including, providing educational and rehabilitative support, including Biblical counseling. We are a newly licensed ministry in Ethiopia but the founders of His Living Stones have been serving in similar areas in Ethiopia for years. His Living Stones provides women with the opportunity to learn to live a self-sustainable life. We are more than just a program that gives away cool stuff to its beneficiaries.  We are a ministry that is committed to helping the women find a way to support themselves and their children.  God created us to work, He created all of us with gifts and talents that we can use to honor Him by supporting ourselves and our children. We want these women to find their gifts and talents, we want them to stand with pride before God as they support themselves and their children. Our goal is to break the cycle of poverty-not to perpetuate it.  If we teach these women skills that allow them to support themselves then their children will begin to see that they too have gifts and talents to offer up that they can use in the future to support themselves.  The beneficiaries of the program are provided with Biblical counseling and teachings, job-skill training (of their choice), literacy training, and life-skills training (things such as: nutrition, budgeting, hygiene, etc). The women are also provided with monthly food and hygiene supplies to help ease some of their worry as they work towards finishing their trainings. The women’s children are provided with tutoring, placement in school, feeding programs, and Biblical training. While our program is mainly geared towards helping the mothers-we realize that to successfully break the cycle of poverty, the children need to start making progress now. Setting them up with good nutrition and good schooling is a huge start in helping the kids on their own path of future self-sustainability.  While the main focus of His Living Stones is to enable single mothers, we do have projects and activities for other people in the community. We hold a discipleship class for teenagers once a week, we have a fun day once a month for our church children and children in the local community, and we also are enabling a few local girls to attend sewing classes so they can learn a trade.
